Couples

What we may work on

Together, we may work on:

â—‹ Breaking cycles of recurring conflict

â—‹ Restoring intimacy and trust

â—‹ Understanding attachment styles and needs

â—‹ Healing from betrayal

â—‹ Adapting to life changes

â—‹ Learning lasting communication skills

Couples counselling with Drew is about solving the real problem – the pattern, not the person. Some couples arrive in urgent need, others come to invest in their future together. Either way, the aim is a stronger, healthier partnership where both voices matter and both people thrive.

What to expect

Couples sessions with Drew are collaborative, steady, and designed to give both partners equal space to be heard. The setting is comfortable and private, with a view over the garden, helping you step out of daily pressures and into a space where the focus is entirely on your relationship.

Each meeting begins with a brief check-in on how you’re both arriving that day, followed by a conversation about any homework or reflections from the previous week. From there, you’ll decide together what feels most important to explore. Drew ensures that each voice is given time and attention, often inviting you to respond to each other’s perspectives. It’s not unusual to find that each partner has their own personal challenge alongside the shared work – two parallel journeys that ultimately strengthen the bond between you.

Sessions can be held in-person (Canterbury) or online via zoom. If available, sessions can be twice a week, weekly, every two weeks, or once a month. Some couples like bursts of short-term support (6 weeks), others like regular long-term support (several years).
